Perhaps less known about Georgetown, Texas is the abundance of one-acre, restricted neighborhoods located around the city. Most of these neighborhoods are just outside the city limits, yet they feature many of the creature comforts that growing families want in more traditional neighborhood settings. The city is also home to a "city within a city." Sun City, Texas is a 5,000+ acre age restricted community for people 50+.
Many have neighborhood common areas, and hiking trails, as well as easy access to Lake Georgetown and the trail system that surrounds the lake. Some homesites also have lake or panoramic views of the Hill Country. These neighborhoods primarily exist on the west side of town, yet many are less than 10 minutes from downtown Georgetown and I-35. Inner Space Cave, to the south of Georgetown is a major tourist attraction, featuring karst formations.
